The Laboratory for the Mechanism of Superconductivity (LMS) at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) and jointly at Quantum Science Center of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (QSC), in Shenzhen, China, invites applications for Research Asocciate Professors, Research Assistant Professors, Postdocs, PhD students (under SUSTech) and Associate researchers and Assistant Researchers (under QSC (quantumsc.cn)).


Our main research goal is to understand the mechanism of high-temperature superconductivity. With the help of atomic-level thin film deposition technique, we rationally design and construct new superconducting materials, with the aim of further increasing the superconducting transition temperature and creating new superconducting quantum devices. While operating independently, the group works in close collaboration with other groups within the larger team of high-temperature superconductivity physics research at Tsinghua and SUSTech with a vision to solving major scientific problems. Our main experimental tools include: oxide molecular beam epitaxy (OMBE), pulsed laser deposition (PLD), angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy (ARPES), low-temperature quantum transport and other mesophysical measurements, atomic-level resolution atomic force microscopy (AFM), and high-intensity high-resolution X-ray diffraction (XRD).




Associate Researcher/Assistant Researcher


Research capability requirements:

1. Direction of film synthesis:

·        Familiar with MBE or PLD. Ability to independently conduct scientific research. High-level scientific achievements and laboratory management skills are a plus.

2. Superconductor physical property measurement direction:

·        Familiar with low-temperature quantum transport measurements and device fabrication process. Ability to independently conduct scientific research. High-level scientific achievements and laboratory management skills are a plus.

3. Superconductor electronic structure measurement direction:

·        Familiar with ARPES. Ability to independently conduct scientific research. High-level scientific achievements and laboratory management skills are a plus. 


Other general requirements:

·        Five years (Associate Researcher) / two years (Assistant Researcher) of experiences in scientific research positions. Those with less than five years/two years but with excellent research ability can also be considered for the job.

·        Willingness to stay in the team for a long time.

·        Strong interest in high-temperature superconductivity mechanism problems.

·        Applicants must be team players, proactive, hardworking, able to work under pressure, honest and rigorous. Zero tolerance for academic misconduct.

Graduate Students


Requirements:

·        A good foundation in physics with a degree in physics, chemistry, materials, electrical and electronic, mechanical or other related fields.

·        Studied quantum mechanics, solid state physics content (if not in physics major, self-study is acceptable).

·        Have good hands-on skills, observation skills, and enjoy doing experiments.

·        Ability to process data with a computer.

·        Strong interest in high-temperature superconductivity mechanism problems.

·        Applicants must be team players, proactive, hardworking, able to work under pressure, honest and rigorous. Zero tolerance for academic misconduct.
